Getting a prescription before diagnosis is malpractice. The same goes for your heating and air system. Many companies will give you an estimate to replace your current system, like for like. We call these companies "box changers" because they do not take the time or may not even be trained to properly fit the best system for your house and budget. For them, it takes the least amount of time and they make the most money giving everyone the same solution.
At Holtkamp, we are concerned with getting you the right system, not the one easiest to install or sell. It all starts with a computerized heat load calculation. This takes about 20 minutes and ensures a properly-sized system. We perform a heat load calculation on every estimate.
An oversized system cycles on and off frequently, doesn't remove humidity from the air and kills your energy savings. An undersized system will fail to keep up on the extreme weather days and will likely fail prematurely. Don't be fooled by other HVAC companies who say they do a heat load calculation and simply walk around your house counting registers; this is a sure sign you will not get a quality installation. Over 80% of metro Atlanta homes have improperly-sized HVAC systems!
We are so sure that we will properly size your system, that we offer a 100% Satisfaction and Comfort Guarantee. This means that if your new system fails to keep you comfortable, we will replace it with another unit, free of charge.

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) refers to the efficiency of your new unit. The higher the SEER, the bigger your energy savings.
Many times customers confuse SEER rating with size. The SEER rating has to do with the unit's efficiency; you have many options from 13 SEER all the way up to 21 SEER for cooling and 80% up to 95% for heating. You choose the SEER; we choose the size. The size is determined by a computerized heat load calculation.

The right HVAC equipment is only half the story. A professional, proper installation is the difference between a system which simply blows hot or cold air and a system that delivers the recommended SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating), maintains your comfortable indoor temperature and lasts longer than the industry average. At Holtkamp Heating & Air, our installers are trained in building science and the Whole House Solution as well as being EPA-certified.
We follow the ANSI/ACCA QI-2007 Quality Installation Specification which means we pay attention to details often overlooked or skipped by other companies. In fact, Holtkamp Heating & Air is the only company in the Atlanta area who follows this strict standard. This ensures your new system is performing the way the manufacturer intended and will last as long as possible. It's these details that separate an average installation from The Holtkamp Way.
